I offer seminars on various topics:

PUPPY GAMES

In puppy classes we focus on building a good dog-handler relationship. We play different games that help build agility skills once dog is old enough to start working on actual obstacles.

The exercises we play involve teaching:

  • Focus on objects,
  • impulse control,
  • building a drive,
  • connection between handler and a dog,
  • playing,
  • the importance of decision making,
  • ”come to me” cue,
  • following the leading hand and more.

YOUNG DOGS

With young dogs we focus on finding the fine line between focusing on a handler and building independence. Teams run short sequeces that only include jumps and tunnels.

You can find forward focus, tight turns, easy discriminations, backsides and backside wraps, coming to hand/following the handler and all 3 basic changes (blind, front and easy rear cross) in the sequences for young dogs.

NOVICE

In novice class teams run sequences (that are part of the whole course) of easy/medium difficulty. The course contains all contact obstacles and the weaves.

We focus on handling and understanding of each other on the course. We work on the correct timing, black and white handling, speed, connection – everything that makes team even better then they were before.

If there is any specific problem a team is facing, we can also work on them if one wishes to do so.

ADVANCED TEAMS

This class is appropriate for teams that can run difficult, A3 level courses. Courses contain threadles, S-lines, slices, layering, independence, discriminations and they really challenge both, handler’s and dog’s skills and their connection on the course.

The main goal when working with advanced teams is to work on details and precision – little things that make a big difference once the team crosses the finish line. Why? Because you can have the fastest dog in the world and you can be one of the fastest handlers – but if you loose time on little things such as acceleration after the turn or a little hesitation when dog needs to discriminate or search for the obstacle by itself – your time at the end of the course just won’t be as good as it could be.

Speed at the end of the course is not determined just by how fast the dog is – it is often determined by connection of the team and precision on the course.

CONTACTS

In contact class we work on all 3 contact obstacles:

  • DOGWALK – running cotacts or 2on2off position. If we work on running contacts it is possible to work either with target training or shaping system.
  • A-FRAME,
  • SEESAW – 2on2off or 4on.

It is suitable for complete beginners and teams that are facing specific problems and would like to work on them.

It’s possible to work through the whole teaching system of certain contact obstacle or work on individual problems of teams.

WEAVES

Class focuses on how to teach a reliable and independent weaves.

DISTANCE WORK/HANDLING

At distance workshop we focus on how to teach each dog independence and distant work. With handlers who are just starting with distance handling, we focus on what and how to teach in order to have a dog who can be handled from the distance.

With handlers who are experienced in distance handling and have a dog who already knows how to work at distance, we work on details on the course, where I also provide suggestions on current handling and things that would also be useful to teach.

SEMINAR FOR INSTRUCTORS

Seminar consist of theoretical and practical part. Students are welcomed to work their own dogs.

Things we work on:

  • saftey on the course,
  • lines and distances,
  • lead leg changes,
  • discriminations and layering,
  • handling,
  • the difference between small, medium, intermediate and large dogs,
  • what challenges are suitable for each level,
  • how to work with unmotivated or overaroused dogs,
